Raz Simone – Cognitive Dissonance: Part One Album [LISTEN]

Seattle is not only compacted in the corner of the United States’ map, but in the Hip-Hop community as well.

Raz Simone has met his moment of truth with his official 300 and Black Umbrella breakout with his album Cognitive Dissonance: Part One.

Produced solely by Simone with various assistance by his loyal teammates, Cognitive Dissonance earns its keep as a psychological mind trip into a relatively unknown, unproven yet undeterred artist who was handpicked by veteran mogul Lyor Cohen to usher in the future of how new talent is developed via the Internet.

On the eye-opening “Natural Resources,” Raz laments, “Although it’s hard to break negative traditions/Nostalgic indifference/I come from a house full of Christians/Who were Christians because they come from a house full Christians/I stopped following when I couldn’t figure out the difference…,” where he allows you inside his real-life opposed to a generic persona just to connect with the radio public. The entire album is a brooding couch session of clever rhyme schemes and ruminative lyrics, as evidenced on records such as “Thirsty” and “Still Mobbin.”

Raz is blessing fans and curious newcomers alike with a pro-bono listen and download, yet he’s still giving the most appreciative of listeners a chance to make a donation in the collection plate so there can be more sermons where the first part came from.
